Malcolm Leitch

Malcolm is a retired real estate executive. Until recently, he was a Managing Partner with BentallGreenOak, one of the world’s leading institutional real estate investment management firms. He received his BCom from UBC in 1979, and his CA in 1981, after which he spent three years working in public practice in London, England. In 1987 he joined Penreal Advisors Ltd., a small real estate start-up based in Vancouver with $100m in assets. As an equity partner in the firm, he saw the company grow, evolve, and recently become BentallGreenOak with C$78b in investments. He also served on its Global Executive Team until stepping back, effective July 2021. When he retired, he was responsible for a large portion of the Canadian investment management business.
In addition to coaching his children’s hockey and baseball teams, Malcolm has served on the boards of non-profit organizations in the health and education spheres. He was most recently on the board and served as Chair (2014–2018) of the Looking Glass Foundation, which assists people impacted by eating disorders. Malcolm continues to be involved with a number of boards of directors and investment committees within the BentallGreenOak group of companies.
Malcolm joined the Y. P. Heung Foundation Board of Advisors in 2021.
